Kumo

ALUX HOME LIVING would like to introduce you the first of it’s fully ‘Cassetted’ or enclosed Folding Arm Awnings. ‘Cassetted’ means the top roller tube and fabric when retracted are totally concealed inside a casing. This gives ultimate protection to the working mechanism and fabric when not in use.

The Aesthetic appeal of the Kumo oozes sophistication.

Functionality has not been compromised to achieve this look with the system able to withstand high wind loads of 50km/h if left out.

Installation can be either a Wall mount (face) or a Top fix (reveal). This awning utilises die cast aluminium brackets and unlike the Klip and Stein that have multiple installation points the Kumo brackets can only be connected to the outer edges of the awning, similar to a roller blind.

The smooth rounded Aluminium Cassette profile separates upon projection and the front rail is that same rounded profile that will collapse back upon retraction and seal into the wall mounted back section of the casing, sealing the cassette.

Screws and Bolts used to assemble are Stainless Steel and there are no visible screws.

Suitable for use domestically outside the home or for commercial purposes. The most visually pleasing Folding Arm Awning system available, you can choose your frame colour from White, Ivory, Graphite and Metalised Grey.

Fabrics most commonly used that perform the best are Acrylic Woven ranges.

The maximum width of this system is 5.5m with a projection of 3m. The angle or pitch of the Kumo varies depending on whether it’s installed on the wall or top fixed and ranges from 5 degrees below the horizontal to 85 degrees.

Operation is by the following methods:

Remote Control – For an investment of this type and an awning of this calibre you should consider motorisation. By use of market leading motor technology you can simply send your awning in or out with the push of a button. For additional piece of mind, a movement sensor can be connected to your awning’s front rail which will communicate with the motor if it’s vertical range of motion exceeds that in which has been pre set, sending your awning back into the cassette and out of harms way.

Crank Control – A manual geared solution in which a metal cranking handle is rotated to project and retract the awning.

Folding Arm Awnings are designed predominantly to provide Sun protection, however they can withstand mild rain shower events. Fabric should always be dried off as soon as possible after being wet to avoid any staining or mildew build up over time. Remember to retract your awning at the onset of any storm event or extreme wind.
